Statement of commitment:
At Granja Emita Panamá, we recognize that producing quality food requires a permanent commitment to environmental protection and the sustainable development of our communities. Therefore, we have integrated responsible practices into every stage of our operations, aimed at optimizing the use of natural resources, reducing our environmental impact, and promoting more efficient and sustainable poultry production.
Beginning
• Reduction of the carbon footprint through solar energy and energy efficiency.
• Responsible water management through rainwater harvesting and own supply systems.
• Valorization of organic waste under a circular economy model.
• Continuous improvement of environmental processes with the incorporation of new technologies.
• Transparency in the measurement and reporting of environmental indicators.
Specific commitments
Granja Emita is committed to maintaining at least 20% of its energy consumption from renewable sources, progressively moving towards 60-70% with the expansion of the photovoltaic system.
We also guarantee the collection and reuse of rainwater, avoiding unnecessary extraction from natural sources, and the transformation of the 100% of chicken manure generated into organic fertilizer.
Responsibility
The General Management of Granja Emita is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy, with annual review of indicators and updating of sustainability objectives.

Statement of commitment
At Granja Emita Panamá, the safety and quality of the food we produce is non-negotiable.
We are committed to ensuring that every egg that reaches the table of Panamanian families has been produced, handled and distributed in compliance with the highest food safety standards, in accordance with the current health legislation of the Republic of Panama.
Scope
This policy applies to all stages of the production chain: handling of birds, collection, classification, packaging, storage and distribution of table eggs.
Beginning
• Implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all facilities.
• Control of critical points through continuous health monitoring systems. • Complete product traceability, from farm to point of sale.
• Ongoing staff training in hygienic handling and food safety.
• Preventive maintenance of facilities, equipment and storage areas.
• Pest and vector control using established biosecurity protocols. • Periodic verification through internal and external audits.
Responsibility
The Operations and Production area is responsible for implementing and maintaining food safety protocols. Any non-conformity detected must be reported immediately to supervisors for corrective action.
3. Animal Welfare Policy Issue Date: June 2025 | Revision: 1.0
Statement of commitment
Granja Emita Panamá recognizes that the well-being of the birds under its care is a fundamental component of responsible and ethical poultry production.
We are committed to ensuring decent living conditions for our 680,000 laying hens, in compliance with international animal welfare principles and applicable Panamanian health regulations.
The Five Freedoms
Our animal welfare management is based on five internationally recognized principles: • Free from hunger and thirst: permanent access to clean water and balanced food.
• Disturbance-free: suitable accommodation with controlled environment and rest areas.
• Free from pain, injury and disease: prevention through health programs and timely veterinary care.
• Free to express natural behaviors: facilities that allow movement and behavior typical of the species.
• Free from fear and anxiety: humane and respectful handling at all production stages.
Specific commitments • Ongoing veterinary monitoring of the birds' health status. • Vaccination and disease prevention programs.
• Ongoing staff training in humane handling techniques.
• Housing densities within the parameters recommended by specialized organizations.
• Prohibition of mistreatment or rough handling practices at any stage of the operation.

Statement of commitment Granja Emita Panamá is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees, contractors and visitors.
The prevention of accidents, occupational diseases and the protection of the physical and mental integrity of our human team are priorities of Management.
Beginning
• Strict compliance with the labor and occupational safety legislation of the Republic of Panama.
• Identification, assessment and control of occupational risks in all areas of operation.
• Provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for each task.
• Ongoing staff training in risk prevention, first aid and emergency protocols.
• Investigation of accidents and incidents to implement corrective improvements.
• Promotion of the physical and mental health of employees.
• Active participation of staff in the identification of unsafe conditions.
Obligations of collaborators
All Granja Emita staff are required to comply with established safety standards, properly use the provided protective equipment, report unsafe conditions, and participate in occupational safety training programs.
Responsibility
The Emita Farm Management provides the necessary resources to maintain safe working conditions. Failure to comply with safety regulations will be addressed according to established disciplinary procedures.

Statement of commitment
Granja Emita Panamá understands that its activity has a direct impact on the surrounding communities and on Panamanian society in general.
Therefore, we are committed to operating responsibly, generating not only economic value but also social and environmental value for our communities and the country.

We demand the highest level of ethical conduct from all our employees, managers, and business partners in the performance of their duties.
Ethical principles
• Legality: compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and standards in the Republic of Panama.
• Integrity: honest and transparent conduct in all business and employment relationships.
• Prohibition of corruption: absolute rejection of any form of bribery, corruption or corruption in our operations.
• Conflict of interest: identification and proper handling of situations that may compromise the impartiality of decisions.
• Confidentiality: protecting sensitive information about the company, employees, clients, and suppliers. • Fair competition: maintaining ethical relationships with competitors, without unfair or deceptive practices.
Report of irregularities
Emita Farm guarantees a safe environment where any employee can report conduct contrary to this policy without fear of retaliation. Reports can be made directly to the General Management or through established internal communication channels.
Responsibility
Failure to comply with this policy by any employee, manager, or supplier will be evaluated and may result in disciplinary action or termination of the business or employment relationship.
